Coral status meanings

Every coral has a status. Status drives filtering, dashboard counts, and what shows up in your active inventory.

The four statuses

  • Alive — currently in one of your tanks. The default for new corals.
  • Sold — left your system in exchange for money. Pair with a logged transaction.
  • Gifted — left your system as a gift or trade. No money expected.
  • Dead — deceased or melted out. Kept for history and lineage but hidden from the active inventory.

Why status matters

  • The dashboard's "active corals" count includes only Alive.
  • The lineage tree still shows non-active corals so you can trace ancestry.
  • Sales reports filter to Sold by date range.

Changing status

Open the coral, change the status from the header dropdown, and save. If you mark a coral Sold, Coralynx will offer to create a transaction pre-populated with that coral.
